Rue de Maubeuge, Paris 9e
Once again, Studio Akademos imposes its worldly style and upper class touch in the heart of Paris. After the revival of the Café Society rue de Levis, the studio worked on a true Fitzgeraldian décor in a traditional Parisian appartment located on the famous rue de Maubeuge, in the trendy 9th arrondissement.
Aurélien Raymond and Costanza Ross, the aesthetic duo at the head of the studio, are particularly drawn to Laquer. They use reflective materials (satin stainless steel, polished brass) and shiny finishes (lacquered American walnut, varnished mahogany, ivory) to underline the glossy-refined aesthetic of the twenties and seventies. Pivotal decades for the Decorative Arts, the studio puts a spin on its references.
This play with materials, as shiny as it is seductive, is stylized with a palette of vibrant colours and punctuated by a selection of brilliant vintage pieces (boxes by Jean Michel Frank, a lamp by Maurice Dufrène, candlesticks by Jacques Adnet, chairs by Paolo Buffa and a chandelier by Gaetano Sciolar). Let the visit begin.
