Our favourite pieces spotted at PAD Paris 2023
A must for 25 years, PAD Paris has struck again. For its quarter-century, the international design fair highlighted ten young galleries from all over the world: æquō (India), DimoreGallery (Italy), Objects With Narratives, Foreign Agent (Switzerland), Rademakers Gallery (Netherlands), Galerie BEAU BOW by Alexis Mabille, Remix Gallery (France).
With the historic galleries meeting the new guard of exhibitors, the fair was more impactful and inspiring than ever, showing pieces that were as unusual as they were eclectic. Examples? A four-poster bed in rainbow tulle inspired by Paul Verhoeven’s Total Recall, a pink fibreglass armchair imitating stacked petrol cans, coloured marble pieces accessorised with bamboo and neon lights. Proof that recycling is undergoing its own little revolution: wall works made from lacquered used ropes, but also coffee tables made from oxidised barrels enamelled in sky blue… Design where you least expect it!
