Kubri Restaurant

Restaurant Kubri in Paris by MUR.MUR © Yvan Moreau

Lucie Rosenblatt and Benoît Huen, the architectural tandem behind the MUR.MUR agency, designed the decor of the Lebanese restaurant Kubri in Paris. What’s on the agenda? A savoury and visual journey into the heart of the Near East.

Kubri’s interior is in symbiosis with the cuisine of sisters Ingrid and Mayfrid Chehlaoui, originally from Beirut. A contrasting immersion in their Levantine lands embodied by the brown glazed earthenware on the floor, a decorative element specific to the Near East, and a white, immaculate and raw plaster on the walls.

On the menu of the Kubri restaurant, a modern take on the Lebanese cuisine of yesteryear. Dishes include: Roast Lala chicken (toum, labne, black lemon, chicken juice); Hispi cabbage (Aleppo pepper butter, shanklish, cri-cri peanuts, apricot pickles, oregano); Halloumi kataif (spiced honey, dukka). For dessert: Osmalié (ashta cream, roasted pear with verjuice, caramelised honey); Nammoura Amande Citron (honey labne, citrus peel, calendula). Bon voyage !
