L'éditeur néerlandais Moooi s’est associé à des marques et studios de tous horizons pour démontrer sa position « à la rencontre de l'innovation et l'humanité ». Après avoir collaboré avec le parfumeur EveryHuman pour créer des fragrances d’intérieur qui ont recours à l’intelligence artificielle, Moooi s'associe à la designer slovène Nika Zupanc pour imaginer un fauteuil aux nouages sens dessus dessous, avec le cabinet IDEO pour composer une lampe de travail suspendue, mais aussi avec le designer 3D Andrés Reisinger pour modéliser des tapis qui suivent les essences florales de chaque saison… Le tout était présenté au cœur d'une exposition appelée « A Life Extraordinary », une scénographie multisensorielle pour un voyage à travers l'exceptionnel.

The most beautiful pieces spotted at Milan Design Week 2023
MILAN DESIGN WEEK • The most anticipated event of the year, Milan Design Week is back for another edition. From 17 to 23 April 2023, design is celebrated in its entirety at the Salone del Mobile within Fiera Milano, and at the Fuorisalone in the streets of the Lombardy capital. It is an opportunity for brands to reveal their new products.
From emerging labels such as Vero and Nilufar Open Edition to established publishers such as Liberty and Hermès, each brand is pulling out all the stops and unveiling new pieces. This year in particular, the most beautiful names in design have crossed their universes to reveal objects, lighting and furniture that are as sharp as they are unexpected: Faye Toogood for Maison Matisse, Louis Poulsen for FENDI Casa, Patricia Urquiola and Michael Anastassiades for Mutina, Andrés Reisinger for Moooi… GOODMOODS looks back at the most beautiful collections and collaborations of this spring 2023.

Every year, Milan Design Week is punctuated by the scenographies and selections of Nina Yashar's Nilufar Gallery. Each edition has its own surprise: this year, alongside the exhibitions presented with Objects of Common Interest, Osanna Visconti, Draga & Aurel and Audrey Large, the Nilufar Gallery is unveiling a new and unique project: Nilufar Open Edition. In all, the initiative brings together 80 sharp and eclectic pieces linked by the boldness of their colours and prints. Hermès
Contour Sofa by Hermes
The new collection for the House of Hermès shows an essential and frugal design, served by expert know-how. Glass blowing, traditional tapestry, virtuoso hand embroidery... Materials appear in their rawest form and show a play of wefts and lines that shape the space. A quest for the organic is also asserted through the use of bronze, glass, wood and leather, enhanced in their most primary aspect. Equestrian references, always present in the house's repertoire, are found on a few pieces such as a porcelain service, rugs and whimsical plaids.

Vero continues its act in Milan. At CONVEY, the new Milanese design incubator, the Italian publisher is unveiling its Drop 4 with new and exciting pieces signed by emerging designers and studios of the moment: Studio Proba, CARA\DAVIDE, BIG-GAME or Lex Pott and a617.
Maison Matisse

After invoking the forms and colours of the work The Thousand and One Nights in a collection designed by Guillaume Delvigne and unveiled during Maison&Objet, Maison Matisse is continuing its exploration of the work of Henri Matisse. This time, it is unveiling a capsule of rugs, tables and armchairs, designed by British designer Faye Toogood and inspired by drawings from Matisse's book "Themes and Variations". Called Esquisses, the collection conveys the energy and freedom of the artist's line.

Liberty

As its 150th anniversary approaches, British textile publisher Liberty is transcending its repertoire by presenting two fabric collections, one for the home and one for fashion, signed by Italian designer and interior architect Federico Forquet. Called FuturLiberty, this series sets aside the house's traditional floral prints to conquer Arts and Crafts prints inspired by the art movements of Futurism and Vorticism, Bernard Nevill's designs from the 1960s, and fabrics from the designer's home in Tuscany. Two exhibitions are presented at the Museo del Novecento and Palazzo Morando in Milan.

Fendi Casa

FENDI Casa has called on the cream of design for its new products. The Italian publishing house has once again called on the talents of Cristina Celestino to design a chair inspired by the ancient monuments of Rome, in particular the architecture and emblematic arches of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, FENDI's headquarters. There is also the unprecedented collaboration with Louis Poulsen, who unveils Poul Henningsen's icons such as the PH and Artichoke for the company, reimagined with stripes and an aged brass finish.

Glaze and geometries are the two protagonists of Mutina's latest collections. On the occasion of Milan Design Week, the expert in ceramic coverings unveils two series created with renowned designers: Patricia Urquiola and Michael Anastassiades. The first, Mater & Chamotte, is made up of random designs, bright colours and shiny glazes that suggest a strong artisanal feel. The second, Fringe, is made up of strips and parallel segments etched strictly on the surface. A tribute to ceramics presented at Casa Mutina Milano.

Collection Nytillverkad Ikea
As IKEA approaches its 80th anniversary, we're delving into our archives to revive a selection of original designs created between 1956 and the 1980s. Designed to enhance interiors, the Nytillverkad collection celebrates fresh, cheerful colours and bold, playful prints. Examples include the three-legged LÖVET coffee table, DOMSTEN stool, BONDSKÄRET coat rack, and the optimistically updated BLADHULT, ILEX and ALFI designs. The Nytillverkad collection will be available from IKEA in July.
