Norman Foster in 15 architectural projects
He is responsible for the Vieux Port in Marseille, the Millau Viaduct, the Gherkin in London, the HSBC headquarters in Hong Kong, the Carré d’Art in Nîmes, the Beijing Airport, Apple Park in Cupertino, the Reichstag in Berlin: always him!
The main representative of the « High Tech » trend with Richard Rogers (Centre Pompidou), Norman Foster and his agency Foster + Partners have changed modern architecture on a global scale for nearly sixty years. Airports, transport networks, skyscrapers, company headquarters, works of art, museums… For each project, Lord Norman Foster combines a futuristic utopia with a high level of understanding of the environment and the context.
From 10 May, the Centre Pompidou is devoting a major retrospective to the architect in the building that was one of the first manifestos of the High Tech movement. The programme includes drawings, sketches, original models, dioramas, cars and planes. A summary of 130 major projects spread over nearly 2230m2. The occasion to look back at 15 emblematic projects of the British architect.
Norman Foster, Centre Pompidou, Galerie 1, level 6. From 10 May to 7 August 2023.
