« Eau Fraîche » by Lucas Huillet & Alexandre Helwani
Paris Design Week 2024 • In response to heatwaves, climate remedies are becoming essential. The fountain, an element of ancient architecture, is once again a source of rejuvenation. During Paris Design Week 2024, Lucas Huillet, a transdisciplinary designer, and Alexandre Helwani, a perfumer and perfume historian, will unveil an installation that revalorizes this often-overlooked piece.
Presented from September 5 to 22, 2024, in the Cour d’Honneur of the Hôtel de Soubise at the National Archives, « Eau Fraîche » will feature two fountains by Lucas Huillet made from Polygood®, a material composed entirely of recycled plastic produced by The Good Plastic Company. Its motif, Sapphire Terrazzo, created from recycled plastic spools, captures the traditional essence of terrazzo.
Glazed stoneware bowls collect the dripping water, which is scented. The fountains flow with two fragrances designed by perfumers from the dsm-firmenich composition house under the direction of Alexandre Helwani. These fragrances evoke freshness, crafted to stimulate sensory receptors associated with the perception of cold. A unique sensory and olfactory experience, partnered by GOODMOODS.
