The Square Berlin

FLAGSHIP • Berlin has nothing to envy to Paris, Milan or New York. If the German capital, the cradle of the underground, is still associated with punk clichés, it has been shaping a more coquettish and sharp image for a few years now, positioning itself at the forefront of fashion and design. Trendsetters Emmanuel de Bayser and Josef Voelk know something about this. They are the ones who created The Square, the German marketplace that brings together the most fashionable ready-to-wear brands of the time: Jacquemus, Courrèges, Coperni, Rick Owens, Toteme…

For their first Berlin store, the founders of The Square wanted to break with the brutalist codes and the Berghain style that stick to the skin of Berlin and wrap the store in softness. A successful bet. The Square, totally designed by the Parisian studio Pierre Augustin Rose, is transformed into a modern « Arcadia ». A “great sanctuary of contemporary luxury” as Emmanuel de Bayser and Josef Voelk like to call it. Good Bayser from Berlin!
