Chimère Paris, 2e

Chimere restaurant in Paris by Necchi Architecture © Ludovic Balay

After the Alfred brasserie in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, Necchi Architecture is back at it again for Chimère, the new restaurant on the rue du 4 Septembre run by the Comptoir des Petits Champs team.

The duo’s retro touch is instantly recognisable: precious velvet, brick-red shades, leopard prints, mirrors and stainless steel details… Charlotte Albert and Alexis Lamesta copy and paste the seventies atmosphere of Paul Schrader’s film American Gigolo into this neo-brasserie with a chic and hushed air.

If you don’t find Richard Gere leaning at the bar, you can imagine all the top show business people of the 70s. And speaking of gratin, the menu at Chimère makes you hungry: roasted squash with makhani and feta sauce; monkfish cheek with miso mushroom purée; duck breast with honey and rosemary; grilled broccoli with basil mayonnaise and hazelnuts… Despite a décor that is as meticulously put together as a Hollywood set, gastronomy is not a chimera here!
