7 French ceramists to follow
Kneading, rounding, shaping, drying, cook… This is the favorite vocabulary of Caroline Bartoli, France Bocognani, Julie Boucherat, Pia Chevalier or Emmanuelle Roule. Charmed by the singular, the beautiful and the handmade, these French artists-ceramists put their hand to the work on a daily basis to shape unique and authentic objects at the border between art and craft.
Franca atelier
“Franca” is the contraction of two first names: France Bocognani and Caroline Bartoli. These two “free ceramists” did not always get their hands on the clay. Seven years ago, they devoted themselves to marketing and communication. Today, they create pieces of art from clay and make hand-made their philosophy.

Pia Chevalier
Transforming everyday objects into sculptures capable of arousing emotion, this is Pia Chevalier's motto. The “designer-craftswoman” trained at the école Boulle gives way to spontaneity to compose her poetic pieces modeled from her workshop at the Goldsmith's, in the former historical premises of Christofle.

Katia Jacquet
Katia Jacquet works with two materials: wood and clay. Fascinated by the craftsman's gesture and by the expressive power of the raw materials, she creates organic sculptural ceramics with an almost primitive appearance.

Mano Mani
Mano Mani it means “the hand, the hands” in Italian. A name in homage to the manual work of those who knead, fabricate, shape and sculpt that perfectly suits Julie Boucherat's amphoras and ceramics braided and modeled in Biarritz.

Jars Céramistes
A passion: clayworking. A founding vision: combining the beautiful and the useful. At Jars, ceramists cultivate the audacity of French know-how. The love of the earth, the beautiful gesture, as well as the attention to detail are part of the heritage that endures and is passed on in the Manufacture. In fact, it is in their home, in the heart of the Drôme, that the bottles of our edition La Consigne are meticulously crafted.
