Generative utopia

As technological utopia gradually surpasses reality, artists are harnessing artificial intelligence to push the boundaries of creativity. With the proliferation of software like Midjourney and DALL-E 3, now connected to ChatGPT (OpenAI), enabling the creation of images from a simple text prompt, an increasing number of artists are presenting computer-generated visuals, causing confusion.

Similar to fake news, it becomes challenging, if not impossible, to distinguish between truth and fiction, to discern whether something was photographed, 3D-modeled, or generated by AI. In artificial intelligence, there are no limits: covering the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco with golden drapes—possible. Creating a fashion campaign without models—still possible. Imagining collaborations between fundamentally opposing brands—always possible. And each time, the outcome is so realistic that it casts doubt. A revolution is underway, and here’s the demonstration!

Fantasized Architectures

Fueled by photos of existing places and architectures, when skillfully employed, AI composes images at the boundary of reality. These images, often enhanced with a touch of imagination, bring a captivating « je-ne-sais-quoi » to visuals that belong to the realm of the artificial.

Land Art as the New AI Obsession

The Land/Urban Art of Jean Verame and Christo is at the center of artificial experiments by SF Golden Gate and Anna Ćwik. They draw free inspiration from the artists’ gigantic interventions in cityscapes and nature to create unique works with subtle echoes of déjà-vu.

Fashion Houses Playing with Illusion

Trailblazing fashion designers Amélie Pichard Amélie Pichard and Anne Laure Mais (Musier) haven’t hesitated to explore the myriad possibilities of artificial intelligence in their recent campaigns. Both disrupt the codes of paparazzi photos, going so far as to push the concept by creating resemblances with well-known celebrities. A way to stand out with humor and irony.

In the creation of contemporary artificial furniture

With artificial intelligence, creating has never been easier. On Midjourney, interiors and furniture pieces are generated in minutes, where 3D modeling and illustration would take hours, if not days.
