Mistinguett at Casino de Paris
The Casino de Paris, temple of music-hall and party for more than 140 years, unveils the new decor of its restaurant named after its star: Mistinguett. Overlooking a Napoleon III entrance hall, Mistinguett is the successor to the former showplace where the Tout-Paris came to indulge in the 1920s: Le Perroquet. It was during this mythical period that the indefatigable revue leader with a faubourien spirit, Mistinguett, was named official godmother of the restaurant.
Today at Mistinguett, day and night, the carefree and mischievous Café Society lives again in a theatrical Art Deco décor signed by the architectural duo Hugo Vince and Adèle Nourry, founders of Atelier Ha. Starting with the black and white archives of Le Perroquet, they revive the gay and festive codes of the house.
Hidden behind the sublime period glass roof: a wave-shaped vaulted ceiling by Matthias Kiss, two sumptuous feathered chandeliers in Murano glass found in Italy, bench seats with sumptuous custom-made fabrics, two-coloured tables with lacquered legs also designed by the studio for the place. The highlight of the show: in the toilets, a whimsical woman-sculpture-fountain created by artists Caroline Derveaux and Margaux Dehry. A reincarnation of Mistinguett in her most fantastical dreams where femininity, animality and naturalness become one. Come and visit!
