Gunnamatta House
Goodmoods is heading to Australia for a tour of Cronulla, a coastal town a few kilometres south of Sydney.
The house facing Gunnamatta Bay was co-imagined by architect Jorge Hrdina Architects and local interior design firm Akin Atelier with great tone and materiality. Polished concrete, walnut wood, marble, sandstone, bronze, steel… Rich and abundant, the material library plays with the transition between rooms. It subtly alternates between warm and cold tones, between relaxed and rigorous notes to recall the opposite origins of the owners – one is Australian, the other is Spanish.
In the main room, colourful paintings by Australian artist Zara June Williams and India Mahdavi’s Best Friend chairs create a new, playful contrast. The proof is in the pictures.
