The 1729 House of Ruinart

La Maison 1729 © Ruinart

The meeting was held under a huge glass roof, in a derelict coach house in the heart of the 7th arrondissement of Paris. There, last October, Ruinart presented the fourth edition of its Maison 1729, a restaurant unlike any other where contemporary art, champagne and gastronomy are in effervescent dialogue. This cabinet of culinary and artistic curiosities was conceived by Floriane Bande and Rod Reynolds behind Dcontract.

Goodmoods has unearthed some exceptional pieces of furniture for this singular place. Among them, lacquered coffee tables and a musty pouf by Pierre Augustin Rose, a curved Danish sofa sold by Jasper Maison gallery covered with the curly fabric Blok by the prestigious publishing house Nobilis, or a desk in recycled leather by Studiofoam. A pervasive off-white hue underlines the second-skin cases for the French house’s bottles, designed by Janique Bourget.
